In tonight’s debate, Scott Morrison was directly asked to support Labor’s Medicare Cancer Plan and he refused.
This election is a choice between better hospitals with Labor, or more cuts from the Liberals.
Labor will invest $2.3 billion in the biggest cancer care package in Australian history – dramatically slashing out-of-pocket costs for cancer patients.
This will mean millions of free scans, millions of free consultations and cheaper medicines for cancer patients.
Labor’s plan is costed and funded – there is no excuse for Morrison to reject it.
The Liberals try to say that fighting cancer is free. That’s seriously out of touch.
Nearly half of Australian cancer patients pay more than $5,000 in out-of-pocket costs over the course of their diagnosis and treatment. More than a quarter of cancer patients pay more than $10,000 out of their own pocket.
Cancer makes you sick, but it shouldn’t make you poor.
Labor believes it should be your Medicare card, not your credit card, which guarantees access to quality health care in Australia.
We will pay for the Medicare Cancer Plan by making multinationals pay their fair share and closing tax loopholes used by the top end of town.
Scott Morrison and the Liberals can’t be trusted on healthcare. Morrison froze the Medicare rebate and cut $700 million from public hospitals.
And if the Liberals are re-elected, they have a plan to cut $2.8 billion more from hospitals.
End the chaos. Vote for change. Vote for Labor.
