KITCHEN UPGRADE TO GET BACCHUS MARSH COOKING

Bacchus Marsh Senior Citizens Club is set to become a cooking hub for many in the local community thanks to a $12,500 Stronger Communities Grant welcomed by the Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King today.
In partnership with Moorabool Shire, the club is upgrading their kitchen facilities, aiming to provide cooking, food safety and mentoring programs and support for local groups like the Moorabool Food Bus.
“This upgrade is a fantastic effort by the BMSC club to engage and help so many local residents and groups.” Ms. King said.
“These facilities will help residents access modern cooking facilities and programs, no matter what part of community they’re from. It’s exciting to see the club win this grant.”
“This was one of the first round of Stronger Community Grants in our region. If you have an idea that could improve our community and are part of a community or not-for-profit group with a local focus I encourage you to get in touch with my office so we can keep you informed of potential grants in the future.” Ms. King urged.
Expressions of Interest for Round 2 of the Stronger Community Grants program have now closed, and will shortly be assessed by a community committee.
Each round considers grants between $5,000 and $20,000, amounting up to $150,000 for the Ballarat electorate.
