The Health Department has blown the lid on the Government’s bulk-billing claims, with new figures revealing that a third of Australians paid out of their own pocket to visit a GP in 2015-16.
In response to Labor questioning, the Department admits that only 64.7% of Australians had all of their GP visits bulk billed in 2015-16 – some 20% less than the figures being spruiked by Malcolm Turnbull.
Australians are less likely to be bulk billed and more likely to pay to see a GP.
This is proof that Malcolm Turnbull knows Australians are paying more for essential health care– and he still isn’t listening.
