Major upgrades to much-loved swimming pools and aquatic centres in Dandenong and Noble Park will be supported by an Albanese Labor Government with a $20 million funding commitment.
Partnering with the City of Greater Dandenong, an Albanese Labor Government will help to deliver the lifestyle and aquatic centres that both these communities deserve.
Noble Park Aquatic Centre
In Noble Park, Labor’s commitment will fund stage 2a of the centre’s redevelopment.
These further refurbishments will include:
• A dedicated learn to swim pool
• Shelter for the learn to swim pool
• Fixed gym equipment, and
• Upgraded amenities.
Dandenong Oasis
In Dandenong we will help build the new Dandenong Oasis, combining aquatic and leisure facilities with an expanded focus on top class allied health and community facilities.
The new Dandenong Oasis will include:
• A modern 50 metre eight-lane pool with movable boom,
• Learn to swim, leisure, and two warm water pools,
• Sauna and steam rooms,
• A café,
• A creche,
• Gymnasium and group fitness rooms; and, • Dedicated spaces for allied health and community facilities.
These investments are about bringing world-class, modern facilities into the heart of Melbourne’s south-east.
It will mean locals can access the essential community facilities they need in their own neighbourhood, without having to battle traffic or put up with ageing and substandard facilities.
It will deliver a better life for working families and will create secure jobs for local workers, both during construction and after opening.
Only an Albanese Labor Government will invest in the social infrastructure communities need across Melbourne’s south-east.
