An Albanese Labor Government will invest $4.8 million in upgrading Drynan Drive in Calliope and fixing one of the region’s most dangerous intersections.
The Drynan Drive intersection is the single biggest local issue for the people of Calliope and it has been identified as a priority by both the Queensland Government and Labor’s candidate for Flynn, Mayor Matt Burnett.
This is the key intersection through Calliope. Thousands of locals drive through it every day on their way to work, the shops, the bowls club or on the school drop off.
This upgrade will keep kids safe and get locals home from work faster.
Despite promises, including from the LNP Candidate for Flynn, the Morrison-Joyce Government have failed to deliver the funding needed to fix the Drynan Drive intersection and make it safe for locals.
This upgrade has been designed and costed, all that is needed is a Commonwealth Government ready to step up and join the Queensland Government in investing in this essential infrastructure.
Labor and Matt Burnett have a proven track record of building roads and infrastructure in Gladstone and across Central Queensland, include the Calliope Crossroads, Kirkwood Road, and the range crossing on the Dawson Highway.
The Morrison-Joyce Government are all announcement and no delivery.
Only an Albanese Labor Government will continue to invest in the infrastructure this growing community needs.
