After talking a big game on fast tracking infrastructure, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has been left red-faced failing to announce work on a single project will be brought forward.
It appeared this morning that Josh Frydenberg had finally listened to the RBA Governor who has repeatedly called for the Government to bring forward infrastructure investment to stimulate the sluggish economy.
Yet this afternoon Josh Frydenberg failed to announce a single project that will be brought forward.
Despite Josh Frydenberg’s excuses we know there is capacity for the Government to bring forward funding for smaller projects and infrastructure maintenance, particularly outside our major cities.
It’s time the Morrison Government ended the spin and started work on a real plan to fast track infrastructure investment to create jobs and improve productivity.
Good governments invest in infrastructure to improve the lives of all Australians and boost our economy – as Labor did in Government.
Josh Frydenberg’s fast track fail is further evidence that the Morrison Government does not have a plan to stimulate an economy that is floundering on its watch.
