LABOR WILL MAKE PRIVATE HEALTH MORE AFFORDABLE
Labor is focused on making private health more affordable for the 13 million Australians who have it, while Turnbull is focused on making private health more profitable for big insurers.
Labor is not considering any changes to the private health insurance rebate, other than what we have already announced. The Turnbull Government needs to make the same guarantee.
The Government’s overreach and desperate attempt at scaremongering makes you wonder what health attack the Turnbull Government is hoping to distract from next.
We know Turnbull is desperate to deflect from his failure to make private health insurance affordable and good value for Australians.
He only cares about one thing – safeguarding the profits of the big health insurers. This year’s premium rise will see Australians pay almost $1 billion more in premiums in the next year.
In contrast, Labor has a plan to make health insurance more affordable and strengthen private health for the future – by capping premiums at 2% for the first two years of Government. We will also initiating a productivity commission review to look at how we make private health more affordable.
Labor cares about helping Australians manage their health budgets and building a stronger private health system for the future – the Government only cares about their big business mates.
