CRESWICK SOCCER GETS COMMUNITY BOOST

Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King today welcomed a grant of $7,500 for Creswick Soccer Club to improve their facilities.
The grant will see new barrier fences constructed behind the goals at the Doug Lindsay Reserve, improving the club’s training program and increasing safety for onlookers, nearby cars and passing traffic.
“It’s fantastic to see local sport getting a boost across our community,” Ms. King said.
“Soccer is growing in popularity all across our region, and grants like this will make sure towns like Creswick get in on the act.
“This was one of the first round of Stronger Community Grants in our region. If you have an idea that could improve our community and are part of a community or not-for-profit group with a local focus please consider applying for the second round in February.” Ms. King urged.
The first round of Stronger Community Grant applications closed in October of 2015.
Applications for Round 2 will open on the 15th of February – For further information, please contact Ms King’s electorate office on 03 5338 8123.
Each round will consider grants between $5,000 and $20,000, amounting up to $150,000 for the Ballarat electorate.
