Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King today welcomed news that Bakery Hill Kinder has been awarded $5,000 funding for their 3 Year Old Play Space project.
The grant is the first to be awarded under the Stronger Communities Programme in Ballarat.
“A significant number of community groups, not-for-profit organisations and councils in our region applied for funding to contribute to capital projects in our region.
“These small projects all bring something special to their communities, and I’m excited to announce Bakery Hill Kinder as the first successful project in Ballarat.
“Their 3 Year Old Play Space will make sure kids at Bakery Hill Kinder will have an engaging and natural educational space to play in.
“This was one of the first round of Stronger Community Grants. If you have an idea that could improve our community and are part of a community or not-for-profit group with a local focus please consider applying for the second round early this year.” Ms. King urged.
The first round of Stronger Community Grant applications closed in October of 2015. Dates for Round 2 have not yet been confirmed, but are expected to be early this year.
Each round will see grants between $5,000 and $20,000, amounting up to $150,000 for the Ballarat electorate.
