Applications are now open for Round One of the National Stronger Regions Fund.
Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King MP, welcomed the opening of round one of the fund and said that it would benefit local community projects which are in need of capital for new infrastructure and enhancements.
“Ballarat is a city and a region which has enormous potential for growth in economic activity. We have already seen the benefits of investing in local infrastructure through projects such as the Regional Ballarat Soccer Facility.
“While I welcome the fund, it comes after the Abbott government cut funding for two vital projects in Daylesford (Multi-Purpose Centre at Victoria Park) and Bacchus Marsh (Indoor Swimming Pool) and it cut vital funding to our local councils.
“I am disappointed that no funding will flow through until at least next year but I encourage local governments and local not-for-profit organisations to apply for this grant programme as it will support local infrastructure projects across our region.”
For further information and to see the guidelines and application forms go to http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/NSRF/index.aspx or contact Ms King’s office at 5 Lydiard St North, Ballarat, Ph: 5338 8123.
