BALLAN RSL RECEIVES GRANT TO PROVIDE YEAR-ROUND COMFORT

Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King visited Ballan RSL to celebrate funding from the Veterans and Community Grants program to install air-conditioning at the RSL hall.

“This $4,900 grant will enable the RSL to provide comfort for members and the community all year round,” Ms King said.

“I was here just a fortnight ago for the Ballan ANZAC service and was especially proud to see many children demonstrating their pride and passion for our country by coming out to honour our wartime heroes.

“In this 100th Anniversary year of the Great War, it’s important that our RSLs continue to play a central role in our community.”

Ex-service and community organisations, veterans representative groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and wellbeing of the veteran community are all eligible to apply for funding through the Veterans & Community Grants program.

For more information about the Veteran & Community Grants program visit www.dva.gov.au/grants or contact Ms King’s office at 5 Lydiard St North, Ballarat, Ph: 5338 8123.
