Federal Member for Ballarat, Catherine King joined with Ballarat Olympian, Shayne Reese to celebrate the completion of BIG4 Ballarat Windmill Holiday Park’s new pool complex.
“Guests at the park will be able to swim all year round enjoying the 20 metre indoor lap pool, spa, toddlers’ pool and splash pad,” Ms King said.
“This is great for local tourism allowing people to enjoy a range of recreational activities all year round.
“Swimming has enormous health benefits, providing a great workout for your whole body, building endurance, muscle development and helps to maintain healthy heart and lung function.
“It is also an activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages due to its low-impact on the body.”
Ms King congratulated the park’s owners, Mark and Adrienne Cove who invested $600,000 in the two-year project and utilised the expertise of local labour.
“I’m pleased with the recent trend of local tourism operators who are showing a real commitment to our economy, by investing in quality venue improvements that will attract new visitors to the region and encourage previous visitors to return,” Ms King said.
“I’d especially like to congratulate Mark and Adrienne for utilising the skills of local tradespeople during the construction phase, supporting local business and helping to secure important local jobs.”
