Jobs across the electorate have been a major focus in the last two years.

Work undertaken through programs such as the Building the Education Revolution and the Community and Local Infrastructure Program have helped support the local job market through the global financial crisis.

JOBS EXPO 2010

More than 3000 people attended the Ballarat Keep Australia Working Centrelink Jobs Expo in April, 2010.

And more than 400 jobs were on offer, with more than 60 exhibitors, at the Wendouree Sports and Event Centre.

Exhibitors included IBM, Ballarat Health Services, Cotton On, Sovereign Hill, McCain Foods, Bartlett Blinds and the Commonwealth Bank."

A big drawcard for many was celebrity tradie Scott Cam, who was onhand to give job seekers advice and encouragement.
