Affordable housing for working families across the electorate is an ongoing focus for Catherine.

Recent successful projects include:

• In September, 2009, Catherine and Housing Minister Tanya Plibersek announced 78 new rental homes in Bacchus Marsh under the National Rental Affordability Scheme.

In March, 2010, Ballarat was named as one of eight centres across Australia to receive funding under round two of the Federal Government’s Housing Affordability Fund.  Ballarat City Council received $2 million to prepare a precinct structure plan for the Ballarat West Growth Area.
