Project Description
Federal Government funding allowed for the refurbishment of the women’s unit, the medical and surgical units, security upgrades at the hospital and the establishment of a medical imaging unit. The medical imaging unit, built at a cost of $330,000, comprises a revamped waiting area, an x-ray room, a processing room, an ultrasound room and upgrades to offices.
Benefits
These improvements will greatly enhance medical services for the region, catering for the expected population growth in the area in the next ten years.
Funding
The Australian Government is contributing $404 million to start the duplication with the Victorian Government contributing $101 million.
