Catherine is a determined and untiring advocate for Federal Government investment in community infrastructure.
Over the last three years, the Federal Government has funded projects in Ballarat, Ballan, Bacchus Marsh, Daylesford and a range of smaller towns and communities across the electorate.
Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program
Under the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program (RLCIP), all councils and shires allocated funding were asked to submit projects that were ready-to-go and met the program’s guidelines. 57 local projects have been approved for payment. Funds worth $10,991,100 have been provided to local councils for projects under the program.
These projects range from new playgrounds and sports facilities, to renovations for halls and community centres. Priority was given to local community infrastructure projects that could proceed quickly. Construction of local community infrastructure has commenced, and 38 of the 57 projects have already been completed.

Ballarat Aquatic Centre - Stage 2 Redevelopment
The Labor Government has provided $1.6 million towards the redevelopment of the Ballarat Aquatic Centre.
The upgrade includes two new indoor heated pools for aquatic education and rehabilitation, two new group change room facilities, new steam room, improved entry/reception area, extended café and family and universal access change facilities. The redevelopment will also include a new spa facility will include full disability access.

Trentham Neighbourhood Centre
The Laborl Government committed $200,000 to the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre to fund much needed expansion and modernisation, improving the facilities to provide classes as well as a new meeting room.

Creswick Interpretive Centre
The Labor Government contributed $450,000 towards a state of the art, environmentally sustainable, local meeting space that focuses on and promotes the town’s timber history.
