Health Minister Peter Dutton has confirmed the Abbott Government is pushing ahead with its GP Tax, by publicly urging doctors to change patients more.
SALES: Don’t you want as many doctors as possible to pass this $5 on?
DUTTON: Well, if they choose to do so then that’s something that we would encourage.

In one sentence, Minister Dutton has swept away a year of lies and deception and finally come clean with patients – the so-called "co-payment" is a tax, and he wants you to pay.
In a fumbling performance, the Minister also confirmed that the Government still had pensioners in its sights by declaring that the government believed too many patients with concessions were being bulk-billed.
He also made the extraordinary admission that he had been lying to voters about his own support for the GP Tax by now insisting he had always known it would be rejected.
"We had offered up the co-payment in the May Budget as a measure which we knew would need to be compromised on."
